RINA CEO Chris Boyd with a Plymouth University naval architecture graduate

Each year RINA welcomes the next generation of Naval Architects joining University programs both in the UK and Internationally.  Hundreds of new first-year students have now started their academic courses, and have been welcomed by RINA in a series of welcome talks.

Since the start of the academic year we’ve been on the road from Plymouth, Southampton, up to Glasgow in Scotland. Online, we’ve spoken to students in Newcastle, Belgium, Malta and India. If members of our academic community would like to arrange a talk their new student members, you can do through contacting membership@rina.org.uk

At the same time we are meeting new members of our community, RINA also is proud to see so many student members graduate this year and enter the naval architecture profession. This cohort started their academic course at the height of the pandemic and we congratulate them on their success in graduating.

In 2023, we have created a new Membership fee of £35 for 1st-year Graduate Associate Members (AMRINA) to help them into their path to becoming a Naval Architect and engineer.
