Ship & Boat International eNews: July August 2022

Work has commenced on this year’s edition of Significant Small Ships, profiling newbuilds sized between 5-100m and officially delivered in 2022 (with the exception of prototype models).

Significant Small Ships of 2022 welcomes any submissions from naval architects, boatbuilders and designers. We cover all vessel types, including RIBs, patrol / SAR craft, crew transfer boats, tugs, ferries, yachts, workboats, OSVs, research ships, pilot boats and inland/coastal vessels, among others. The coastal cruiser Kai Shiuan 8, built by Glow Marine and designed by CoCo Yachts, was an entry in last year’s edition (pictured right).

We’re especially on the lookout for vessels that are first in class, or that boast unique and/or special design characteristics and items of equipment. Multiple submissions (for instance, of three vessels produced by the same designer or yard) are allowed. All we need from you is the following:

  • A brief description of the vessel’s main design features and key attributes
  • The completion of a template ‘Technical Particulars’ form
  • A full colour photo of the vessel, on the water
  • A General Arrangement (GA) of the vessel

Our deadline for entries is 18 November 2022. If you are interested in submitting vessels, please contact the editor, Martin Conway, at sss@rina.org.uk and we’ll be in touch with further info and the relevant forms.
