As always, the volume will comprise information on up to 50 predominantly commercial designs (100 metres length and over) generally that have been delivered by shipyards around the world during the previous year. The selection of ships will be based on upon their design, technical, engineering merits.
Each of the vessels selected for Significant Ships includes a photograph (full colour) of the ship, followed by a concise technical description highlighting the key features, supported by a comprehensive tabular list, detailing technical data and a full-page general arrangement plans.
Given the growing importance of ship efficiency, as mandated by IMO, for the first time this year we are also asking participants to provide the attained Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) value of their vessels, as well as information on the energy-saving technologies installed.
Last year’s edition included entries for notable vessels such as the LNG carrier Golar Nanook, ultra-large container ship CMA CGM Antoine de Saint Exupery, cruise ferry WB Yeats and the UK’s new flagship research vessel Sir David Attenborough.
There is no charge for publishing any of this information and many previous participants have told us they have found it hugely beneficial to be listed. The information and visuals provided will not be reproduced anywhere else without consent.
