Sunseeker International has disclosed a number of design details regarding its forthcoming 88 Yacht – which, although set to feature a relatively compact length of 26.38m and 6.47m beam, will replicate the feel of a larger-sized luxury superyacht, Sunseeker claims.
Designed to draw 1.95m and displace 75.4tonnes, the 88 Yacht will be powered by twin MTU 10V 2000 engines, enabling speeds of up to 28knots. The class will accommodate eight guests and four crew and, in terms of tank capacity, will carry 11,000litres of fuel oil, 1,400litres of fresh water and 435litres of black water.
The yacht will incorporate Sunseeker’s ‘Beach Club’ concept, comprising a convertible outdoor ara equipped with a sunbed, an overhead rain shower, an optional parasol and stowage space for two Seabobs. The flybridge, meanwhile, will feature the option for a spa bath with sun pad: alternatively, the client can turn this section into a bar area, complete with fixed stools. The teak foredeck will offer another onboard sunbathing area.
The main deck will house a forward galley. Should the owner desire privacy, he or she can close off the galley to enable crew to move around the yacht unnoticed, with access from the lower helm on the starboard side. The helm will feature seating and a glass bridge with flush screens, incorporating Simrad’s NSO evo3 series of multifunction display systems. Buyers of the 88 Yacht will also gain access to a new app, mySunseeker, which will permit them to control multiple onboard systems from an iPad or smartphone.
Other features will include: a grand fixed table, located midship, for eight guests; a master stateroom with a 55” TV; a VIP forward cabin; and two double cabins. Sunseeker says: “For the charter market, an optional fifth cabin is even possible in lieu of the standard master stateroom.” The crew will share a four- or five-berth-capacity cabin, designed with a kitchenette.
