Maritime Safety CommitteeThe Maritime Safety Committee aims to improve maritime safety by sharing its extensive expertise with professionals working in naval architecture, maritime engineering and related sectors. The Maritime Safety Committee is tasked by the RINA Council with making the Institution’s collective technical expertise available to those in the profession in order to improve safety within the maritime sector. It is accountable to the Council, and authorised to speak on behalf of the Institution in accordance with Council policies relating to maritime safety. IMO CommitteeRINA’s International Maritime Organization (IMO) Committee represents its members at the IMO, ensuring the views and evidence-based opinions of the naval architecture community are heard. RINA’s IMO Committee is tasked by the RINA Council with contributing the collective expertise of the Institution to the work of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). It is authorised to act and speak on behalf of the Institution in accordance with Council policies on all matters relating to the Institution’s work and responsibilities as a Non-Governmental Organisation with Consultative Status at the IMO. President’s Invitation Lecture – Evening Event
The President’s Invitation Lecture takes place on 24 November 2025, sponsored by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). This prestigious lecture brings together members, industry leaders, and decision-makers for a session highlighting cutting-edge developments and thought leadership in naval architecture.
Attending the lecture provides:

Registration
Cancellations received less than two weeks before the event cannot be accepted and are subject to the full event fee. Delegates may be substituted; however, this must be sent in writing and confirmed with the RINA Events Team. It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to alter the content and timing of the programme. In the unlikely event that RINA cancels the event for any reason, our liability is limited to the return of the registration fee.

Anyone deemed to be acting discourteously towards other attendees will be asked to leave the event.
