Medal of Exceptional Merit and Medal of Distinction

Awarded to the authors of papers of merit published in the Transactions and Conference Proceedings.

The Samuel Baxter Prize

Awarded for the best paper on the subject of safety published in the Transactions by an author aged 35 or under.

The Wakeham Prize

Awarded for the best general paper published in the Transactions by an author aged 35 or under.

The Ian Telfer Prize

Awarded for the best paper on the subject of the environment published in the Transactions by an author aged 35 or under.

W H C Nicholas Prize

Awarded for the best paper on a design-related topic published in the Transactions by an author aged 35 or under.

The Austin Farrar Prize

Awarded for the best paper on the subject of small craft published in the Transactions by an author aged 35 or under.

The Jeom Paik Prize

Awarded for the best paper on the subject of structures published in the Transactions by an author aged 35 or under

The David Goodrich Prize

Awarded for the best paper presented at the annual RINA Warships Conference.

The Calder Prize

Awarded for the best paper on the subject of small or high-speed craft published in the Transactions by an author aged 35 or under.

The Pyrgotelis Zoitos Award

The William Froude Medal

The William Froude Medal is awarded to an individual who has made a conspicuous contribution to naval architecture and/or shipbuilding and whose achievements merit special consideration.

It is RINA’s highest award for professional achievement.
