Monaco-based luxury yacht brand Wally has unveiled the first renderings of its wallywhy150 class, a 24m/150gt model. The newcomer has been described as a ‘little sister’ to the group’s 27m/200gt wallywhy200, launched in September 2021.

The wallywhy150 was developed by Wally-Ferretti Group Engineering, with Studio A. Vallicelli & C producing its interior design. Luca Bassani, Wally founder and chief designer, says: “The challenge was to incorporate some of the 200’s best features into a smaller package, while opening the door to new, innovative solutions in the size range.” Part of the design approach has been to create “enormous” exterior spaces, he adds, thereby enabling owners to host a complete dining option (including a bar/kitchen with grill) on the sundeck, for example.

The interior saloon, on the main deck aft, spans the boat’s entire 6.78m beam. “The saloon is on the same level as the cockpit down to sea level, creating a close sense of connection with the water,” Wally explains. The new design also borrows elements from the 200, most notably the full wrap-around glass window on the main deck, plus a high bow, enabling 270° views from the forward master cabin. It’s unlikely that guests will have to stoop, given the boat’s interior headroom of 2.5m, courtesy of a curved ceiling.

The wallywhy150 will feature four staterooms for eight guests, plus two cabins for the four-man crew, and will carry 9,000litres of fuel. Buyers can select from a propulsive set-up of three Volvo Penta IPS1200 engines, for a maximum speed of 21knots, or three IPS1350 units, enabling a top speed of 23knots. The first 150 model will be launched in February 2023.
