UK yacht designer and builder Brythonic Yachts says it is inviting “serious inquiries only” for a new customisable house boat concept. Potential owners will be able to select from: aluminium or composite construction; a fully built boat or a flatpack/self-assembly package; and between one to four bedrooms, with boat lengths set to span 9-25m.

Sharing the concept on LinkedIn, Brythonic Yachts MD Drew Reyland writes that a 15.5m version of the house boat would feature a 4.99m beam and a 0.5m draught, along with two day heads, twin double bedrooms (with en suite facilities), air-con, handrails and a non-slip deck arrangement. Various seating arrangements are possible, and the house boat will also feature a water maker, bollards and a fender system.

A davit, navigation systems and class-approved safety equipment would also be installed, enabling the owner to take to the water.

Reyland suggests that the houseboat should be fitted with an outboard motor with a maximum rating of 115hp (112kW). While Brythonic Yachts has not disclosed pricing at this stage, it’ll be hard-pressed to top the cost of a house in London right now. Reyland adds: “We also have designs for floating offices, classrooms and medical clinics.”
