Liam Blackmore
Liam Blackmore leads decarbonisation in the Lloyd’s Register Technical Directorate. In his current role, Liam supports the strategic direction, policy, and governance for engineering; he manages the introduction, qualification, and implementation of novel and complex technologies onboard ships, with a focus on low-to-zero carbon fuels such as ammonia, methanol, and hydrogen. Liam is a Panel Member for the Safe Decarbonisation Panel in IACS, and represents and provides technical support to several delegations at the IMO.
Lars Hansen
Lars Hansen is an experienced mechanical engineer with extensive expertise in marine engine systems. He studied Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Design and Development at HTWG Konstanz – University for Applied Sciences from 2001 to 2006. His professional journey began at Wärtsilä Switzerland Ltd. in 2007, where he advanced from Engine Control Engineer to Team Leader of the Engine Control Team. With the transition to Winterthur Gas & Diesel Ltd. (WinGD), he continued to play a pivotal role in shaping engine performance and control systems. From 2016 to 2019, he served as Expert for Dual-Fuel (DF) LNG Performance, contributing to the advancement of cleaner propulsion technologies. Since 2020, Lars’s career has continued, joining the Application Engineering department at WinGD, managing cross-functional integration of advanced engine solutions and supporting the maritime industry’s shift toward sustainable propulsion systems.
