Meeting and Talk – AI for Marine Design and Engineering by Matt Dugay, Beca – 30th July 2025
As BIM, digital twins, and AI converge, the way we design, manage, and operate assets is rapidly evolving. In this talk, Mathieu Duguay will explore how naval architects and marine engineers can prepare for existing and future design workflow, where data-rich models, intelligent automation, lifecycle thinking and agentic AI become the norm. This session will bridge the practical & strategic with a focus on how marine organisations are setting up today’s foundation for success.
Mathieu Duguay is a Digital Principal and Business Director at Beca where he helps industrial organisations adopt new ways of working using technology, from process digitisation, BIM to asset analytics & AI. Mathieu is also a Co-founder of Beca Maestro, an AI optimisation and asset management tool helping refrigeration operators continuously save energy and take better decisions on their assets.
Mathieu holds chartered memberships in Canada (Eng.) as well as New Zealand (CMEngNZ) and is a project management professional (PMP).
