Delivering NLV Pole Star

Phil Day, Director of Operations at the Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) will give a presentation on NLB’s Vessel Replacement Project to replace the NLV POLE STAR. He will discuss the technical and project challenges presented by procuring and building a bespoke buoy-laying vessel that will meet the changing demands of the coastline around Scotland and the Isle of Man over the next 25-years. The new NLV POLE STAR has been designed with considerations around the changing climate and new technologies. The vessel will be more capable, cleaner and quieter than any NLB vessel has before. This work continues the longstanding commitment that NLB has to the safety of the environment, mariner and the coastal communities of Scotland and Isle of Man.
