“Challenges of Ultra Deep-Water Construction in the Black Sea” by Evren Ekinci Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Centre
The Black Sea is a challenging and relatively unchartered territory for the oil & gas business. The deeper sections have high concentrations of H2S, the topography is challenging for routing of pipelines and cables due to steep shelf breaks and severe turbidity flows and the seabed on the abyssal plane is extremely soft. This presentation provides feedback from the construction and installation of a recently completed ultradeep-water, fast-track oil and gas project in the Black Sea. The attendees will find out about the various challenges faced, some new and some previously known to the industry, but rarely so many in combination within a single development and how the project addressed these.
CPD Certificates will be available upon request.
