In a world of rapidly changing technology and innovation, the Royal Institution of Naval architect requires its members as professional engineers to take active steps to both maintain and develop their professional competence and knowledge. RINA organises a number of short maritime courses and seminars aimed at helping engineers undertake their Continuing Professional Development.

Contract Management

For Ship Construction, Repair and Design Course

A three day maritime course designed for project managers who handle day-to-day relations with other parties, people who produce contracts and senior managers who monitor contract-related cash flow. It’s designed to be relevant to shipyards, repair yards, naval work, ship owners, equipment suppliers and consultants.

Dry Dock Training

A four day maritime course designed to be relevant to Dock Masters, Docking Officers, Engineers, Naval Architects, Port Engineers and others involved in the dry docking of ships and vessels. The course is presented through classroom lectures, student participation in projects and practical application exercises.

RINA Events Programme

In addition to these regular courses RINA also organises occasional seminars on such topics as Intellectual Property Rights, Fish Vessel Safety, etc.

All RINA courses and seminars are open to anyone working in the maritime industry and attendance at these courses counts as part of CPD. A CPD certificate will be provided for all those completing the course.

Local Lectures and Seminars

RINA has a number of divisions and local branches around the world that organise their own local programme of lectures and seminars, many of which are open to non-members. If you want more information about local RINA lectures and seminars please visit the RINA Divisions & Branches page. Individual programmes are shown on each Branch’s webpage.
