'Camila', pictured during her January launch, has a predicted range of 5,000nm when sailing at half-load

Istanbul boatbuilder Bilgin Yachts has provided a sneak preview of its latest 499gt superyacht, Camila, following the vessel’s launch at the end of January. The newbuild, a member of the Bilgin 163 series, was produced in collaboration with compatriot naval architecture firm Unique Yacht Design – whose founder, Emrecan Özgün, describes Camila as boasting “20% larger areas than 48m yachts” – and Milan-based interior design specialist Hot Lab.

Built with a steel displacement hull and an aluminium superstructure, Camila measures 50m (48.3m on the waterline) x 9.25m overall, and draws 2.6m and displaces 495tonnes when sailing at full load. The boat’s sun deck spans 21m in length, while the bridge deck aft is 12m-long.

The yacht is powered by twin CAT C32 engines, rated 1,081kW at 2,150rpm each, and these drive five-bladed, 1,400mm-diameter propellers, enabling a cruising speed of 12knots and a top speed of 16.5knots.

The yacht is also fitted with a 110kW electric bow thruster and four fin stabilisers, and has a predicted range of 5,000nm when sailing at half-load.

Camila is equipped with tanks offering capacities of 55,000litres of fuel, 11,000litres of fresh water, 11,800litresof grey water and 3,800litres of black water. The yacht also contains two fresh water makers, each capable of producing 8,400litres daily. Auxiliary power is supplied by three CAT C4.4 generators, rated 86kW apiece.

The vessel can accommodate up to 12 guests, occupying six staterooms, and up to 10 crew members. The master cabin has been laid out in the style of a “private office”, featuring a standalone desk, bookshelves and art pieces, Bilgin Yachts says. Although the owner’s details remain under wraps, it’s understood that Camila is bound for US waters.
