Maritime Committees
The Institution’s Standing Committees act on behalf of Council on all routine matters relating to their areas of delegated responsibility. They provide guidance to Council and speak on behalf of Council when called upon to do so.
Maritime Safety Committee
The Maritime Safety Committee aims to improve maritime safety by sharing its extensive expertise with professionals working in naval architecture, maritime engineering and related sectors.
IMO Committee
RINA’s International Maritime Organization (IMO) Committee represents its members at the IMO, ensuring the views and evidence-based opinions of the naval architecture community are heard.
Maritime Environment Committee
The Maritime Environment Committee leads on strategy and activities that help protect the maritime environment and develop marine renewable energy.
Maritime Innovation Committee
The Maritime Innovation Committee identifies and assesses the impacts of new and evolving technologies, and develops policy on how the Institution should address them.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is tasked by the Council with assessing all applications for election as a Corporate Member (MRINA and FRINA) and registration with the Engineering Council.
Professional Affairs Committee
The Professional Affairs Committee is responsible to the Council for all matters relating to the education and professional development of members of the Institution. It is authorised to act and speak on behalf of the Institution in accordance with Council policies relating to education and professional development.
